Victorian MPs need your letters of support

I read this in The Age this morning:

"One member of Parliament said emails and telephone calls from Right to Life campaigners had reached a "fever pitch". "One colleague took a call from someone who just yelled 'child killer' into the phone," she said."

Victorian MPs need to hear from the from the kind of people who do not scream into the phone. The kind of people who will support a rational move to recognise women as autonomous moral agents and arbiters of their own fate.

A letter to your MP does not have to be long, you can merely say: "Dear Minister, I vote, I support Option C, I hope you do too." Seriously. They have staff who are counting preferences, make yours heard and we can drown out the voices of the Pro-Life crazies.

ProChoiceVic have made expressing your views to MPs easy. Try to imagine yourself with an unwanted pregnancy and an uncertain future, imagine that you did your best but birth control failed, imagine that you live in a country where someone who is not you is dictating what is best for you in this circumstance. Then write.
