Open Adoption SOUNDS nice... I had no idea...

Adopted Jane: Open Adoptions Dont Be Fooled..

Ok, ok, I'm procrastinating... But if the ProLife movement can accept women's stories as evidence of the devastation an abortion can cause, wouldn't this (and the other links in the post) be enough evidence that adoption is just as problematic? not only for the incubators (oops! birth mothers!) but for the adoptees who have no choice in the matter? They wouldn't be cherry picking their evidence would they?

*sigh*

Oh, and the scary bit? The two websites on adoption I looked at listed a whole lot of articles painting a very rosy picture of open adoption. I lost one, but here's the other.

It's so hard to find balance in any debate with babies in it, potential or otherwise. The only website I've seen with any balance at all about abortion (as in, yes it's a simple operation, but no, it's not a simple choice and depending on the kind of person you are and your situation you may regret it) was on a government website. It is a shame that the same website does not mention the potential for regret and emotional repercussions of adoption both for birth mothers and adoptees.

Back to work!
